Its funny, they outline the terms of unity with absolute clarity yet they can't actually see that this is the solution to this issue.

"The bulletin said that violent extremists have been “motivated by a range of issues, including anger over Covid-19 restrictions, the 2020 election results, and police use of force” as well as “long-standing racial and ethnic tension, including opposition to immigration.”"

This is exactly what causes the disunity, and can be inverted to create the solution to unity.

"The extremists can be pacified by addressing a range of issues, including those who grossly mishandled the CV19 crisis being held accountable (The "Lmao throw sick pensioners into pensionhomes" bastards), bipartisan election reform featuring both voter ID, constitutional access to identification and mandatory quotas for polling locations by population density, police reform that was torpedo'd by partisan fuckery in August, and actually addressing the fact that immigration has driven the political dialogue to the brink because cunts in Washington have been maliciously ignoring what is literally 80% of the populace to please the wage-repression demands of their corporate overlords"

But...Yeah. Jan 6th showed extremists of all stripes how much of a paper tiger Washington is, how easily they can be intimidated to literal hysteria, and how little effort it takes to breach the capitol even with a prepared police presence.

So Washington better starts taking this unity shit reeaaaallly fucking serious, because else, within the next 4 years, a mob will descent on the Capitol again. Perhaps it will be another political corruption scandal. Perhaps another black guy gets killed by the police in a scenario that has worse optics than a preacher picking up a gay prostitute. Perhaps it will be another high-profile election in 2022 or 2024 showing clear signs of fuckery that they'll try to sweep under the rug. Whichever one it is, expect shit to simply escalate as things are known to do if gone unaddressed.

Because once that happens, they'll bring torches. And if they fail, it will just be a matter of time until the next crowd.

They'll bring rifles instead and then its game over. At the end of every failed democracy waits the angry mob. This isn't some threat or extremist statement, its manifest observable reality we can observe in any country that destroyed their own democratic institutions. Democracy is not and will never be some kind of method for good governance; it serves a singular purpose that made it the cornerstone of stability and justice that we appreciate it as: Completely delegitimize any or all political violence within it. Delegitimize your democracy, and you'll legitimize violence as a natural result.
