Yeah, I tend to think it’s more about them imposing their will (obviously not their actual beliefs because they are all massive hypocrites) on as many people as possible than it is anything else. If those people are diametrically opposed, all the better.
This is why it's frustrating. Look at all the crap the Democrats did to make sure they could maximize the death count. Back in Feb/March, they were telling people to go out and the virus wasn't a concern, thus creating the initial super spreader events like the New Years' Celebration in San Francisco, the Parades in New York, and so on. They pissed and moaned about racism when Trump closed the borders. They they packed nursing homes with infected people. They bad mouthed any form of treatment Trump mentioned. They shut down small businesses and forced everyone to go to a select set of places which only increases the odds of spreading.
