I wouldn't drink soda regardless of HFCS or not. It's bad for you, and honestly I don't think it tastes good anyway. That doesn't mean I don't have the rare Redbull or similar, but only out of necessity. You also don't need any fancy bottles water, vitamin water garbage, or any other similar marketing gimmick. Just drink regular bottled or filtered water. I have a basic reverse osmosis drinking water system installed in our house. It's only a couple hundred bucks and after a year, the first stage pre filter was the color of brown rust.
you can check your municipality's water regulations. A lot of smaller towns don't add fluoride.. so literally drinking straight out of the tap is fine. A lot of time its cleaner than anything you'll get from a bottle.

The issue is that my house has an old water main, and I think that's where the rust was coming from. Don't know. It's a very old town.
