What good does it do for places like VA that say 'yeah, we cheated and it was very very naughty of us to do so. We won't do it again. Pinky swear.' Meanwhile, congress is busily trying to take all the election rights away from the states. (see HR1) If they change the rules of the game then it is all a moot point. All of the states can say "my bad" and have nothing come of it because those laws no longer exist.
This is the long game and the military is the only way.

The problem is this fraud went all the way up the chain through congress and the VP himself. It's going to be an extremely difficult uphill battle to fix all this shit and possibly prosecute all parties involved when DC is full of swamp and possibly even worse than it was just mere months ago.

Reading the ruling it looks like they did a thorough job in making sure that the law was followed. Signatures were audited, the voter rolls were examined and referenced, and time the ballots were received were documented. I wish this standard of review was followed everywhere.
Just read the judgement - it seems that it's not officially overturned per se, but that hundreds of ballots are being counted that were not, or being removed that were counted, and that the board of elections has to adjust the totals accordingly, then certify the new result whatever it may be.
We just expect that to go in favor of (R) Tenney.
Also sets a glorious precedent.

The R candidate was leading by like 27 originally and now is expected to be leading by over 100 votes.
Reading through the order it seems like mostly sloppy poll workers allowing ballots to be cast at the wrong location or allowing purged voters to vote.
While it’s kinda nice to see him lay the smack down, it’s only like a 100 vote swing in a congressional district.
There are 535 House seats, so that’s 500k votes nationwide if this is the normal standard of poll worker laziness.
Now the flip side of that 500k calculation is that this happened in NY. Not a battleground, and a Democrat bastion of power state.

The precedent is being set that there are places where the number of errors is greater than the margin of victory. We should 100% be checking everywhere that looks suspicious.

Re: the reaction to the severity, it is good that the judge noted that, but it is out of the scope of the case. There’s no criminal defendant on trial for election fraud. This is about contesting specific ballots.
There was no rep seated following this. Now there will be. So it is a solid result.
