Even when they go back they’re not teaching. 1-12 is basically an attendance grade. Students watch videos, do self-assignments, prep for standardized tests...what they do ‘teach’ has no value...they are hall monitors and baby sitters but would never intervene in a violent student confrontation to protect anyone. Children need basic math and reading after that if they’re not autodidacts, they’re fucked...even if they get through college or high school, companies won’t always hold your hand and train you for everything...you need to know enough to teach yourself or know what you don’t know and see a mentor...
Teaching isn't just about having kids remember facts and figures. It's about personal mentoring developed from an in person relationship of trust, life lessons, attitude and behavior lessons.
If "teachers" are unwilling to provide this to children they should learn to code.
