Hey folks, I’m needing some input on where to move. Right now, I’m on the west coast in the semiconductor industry. I’ve been thinking about moving out of Oregon for a while now, and with how things are going in this state, I’m needing to get out and find a place that is more sane, red, freedom loving, and gun loving. So far I’ve been looking at places like Idaho, Texas, Arizona, and Tennessee that has work in the industry I work in, but I’m sure there are other places out there that I’m not fully aware of yet.
I won’t make a full list of “wants and needs” because I know that it’ll be pretty hard to checkmark all of them off. But I’ll at least name a few to help give you a better idea of what I’m looking for.
In terms of landscape and scenery, I prefer the mountains and forests a bit more than complete flat land, and someplace just outside of the city limits. I don’t care if I’m near the ocean or not (I can live without it). I would like to find a place that I can get a few acres of land for growing my own food as well. Lastly, would be a place that would be a good place to raise a family.
If you have any input/suggestions/tips for helping me out in this area then I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance for your input.
We need you to move to Texas and vote to secede. When they start coming for us, we'll need a safe space to go to. We need you to secure that place for us.
I have been looking at Texas for a little bit now. Any specific place in Texas would you recommend? Cause I've heard/read different opinions on where to go in Texas.
If I was you, I'd sit down and write down what's most important to me. Do you need greenery? Do you prefer the desert life? Do you need to fish/hunt? Etc.
The answers to your questions will determine what your choices are.
To answer those two questions at least, I definitely like the more forests and mountains more than the desert, and I really enjoy fishing and hunting.

If I'm able to find work in the semiconductor industry (or similar industry), then I would prefer the smaller city/towns. But I know that is probably not possible, so in that regard, I'm a bit more open to the "big city". But that's only for work honestly. Which is why I'd try to find a place that is outside of the city limits.

BTW North Georgia is very MAGA, lots of IT work in and around Atlanta, Georgia Tech is in Downtown Atlanta.
