The irony is that we literally have a prime example of what raising the minimum wage looks like right now in California. They recently hiked the minimum wage up and it absolutely devastated small businesses and resulted in mass layoffs of people that needed those jobs. All the minimum wage does is prevent people that are willing to work from getting work, and prevent businesses that want to hire people from hiring people at rates that they can actually afford.
