Kids are more awake than parents a lot of the times. Go ask a kid who plays sports how much they like liberal policies.

Decades of being brainwashed by the tv is unfortunately why the older generation doesn’t want to believe this is our reality now.

"Well it's not true unless the TV says it's so" 🤦‍♂️ how many times have a heard an idiot say that... it's not called the idiot for no reason

GoldenPlains 30 points ago +30 / -0

Wasn't that a joke back in the day? I swear I remember people saying that more in a joking manner, but now they are dead serious.

There is a reason it has channels and is called programming. https://www.outofshadows.org/

"Then why isn't it on the news?" Sigh. Here we go again.

Or "they wouldn't be allowed to say it if it isn't true"

Funny you say that. I was just thinking that exact thought 5 minutes ago.

Yes! Muhahahahahahaha

Joesf23 14 points ago +14 / -0

There is an age 60-80 demographic who believe everything that comes out of muh TV. The younger 18-30ish generation believe every single stupid fucking thing they see on FB. There will always be 40% of the population that wants to be alsleep and be a willing slave as long as they get their government goodie bag and can afford a new stupid shiney object every couple weeks. Revolution war was actually an unpopluar war amoung the "normies" back then.

10
Garrettlst 10 points ago +10 / -0

Yes, I believe the Revolutionary War was fought by 3% of the population.

Nah...I'm 63. I know MANY people my age and older that are very STRONG supporters of President Trump, MAGA and, now, Save America. We're old enough and intelligent enough to know the lies when we hear them. I live in a ridiculously liberal city and I find it's the late teens through mid-forties that are the gullible ones that believe everything they read on social media and go CRAZY if they find out you're a conservative.

2
gr8tGatsby 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, I agree, I am 58 and there are many of us that support Trump, MAGA and understand the game is rigged and we are being a fed a line of bullshit. In fact, I would submit any older person is more likely to recognize what is going since we grew up when things were at least civil. Their biggest tool is keeping the country divided with their false narratives. I find the younger crowd are the ones convinced of their moral superiority and the most closed minded. Edit: And I love the video even though I hate rap but he is on point.

Boston Tea Party was domestic terrorism.

CelesteD 8 points ago +8 / -0

uh ... I'm 49. I think for myself and question everything critically, I hope you don't mean my generation. Of course, I started noticing how utterly horrible TV made me feel in general and gave it up back after Obama first got elected. News is the worst, sure you stay informed, but its fear porn and it will kill your mood and outlook on life. Also I'm pretty sure chronic television use probably lowers IQ to some extent. Maybe I'm an outlier or something.

3
pmyourcovfefes 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don’t have any study to link but I have read that watching tv brings your mind down to an almost trance like state where you’re not really engaged.

Explains binge watching culture at least.

1
UnmaskedPatriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm curious if they're sending out legit mind control frequencies. The technology has been patented long ago.

3
Scooby721 3 points ago +3 / -0

You are not an outlier, I'm the same as you. 49 yr old dude, quit watching tv years ago. I use my tv for Vidya and an occasional movie (older movies, I rarely watch any movie made after 2008, that's when I believe the wokeness kicked into hyperdrive). I think for myself and I question everything.

2
Garrettlst 2 points ago +2 / -0

I was talking about the 70+ crowd. It’s a mood killer for sure. Have you ever heard that guy David Muir talk on ABC. You talk about fear porn to the nth degree.

2
Ghom 2 points ago +2 / -0

Naah man, I'm 43 and I'm right there wirh you. Haven't watched network television or the news in 20 years.

This new generation (24 and under) and the first generation who grew up with the ability to fact check you in seconds. It's pretty hard to lie to them.

crazyjackel 27 points ago +27 / -0

The republican club at my college has had it's population explode over the last few years, it went from on average, ten people to around twenty. Not only that, but there're republican activists on campus that we have no clue who they are. The membership of all three of democrat clubs are down, so it's slowly changing on campus here. The biggest bulk, seems to be those under 16 right now from what I have heard.

25
Rune_ 25 points ago +25 / -0

The pendulum swings. The one who limits the young is the one that they will reject. Before, it seemed to be republicans for not liking dyed hair or tattoos, now it’s Democrats trying to actually destroy freedom.

7
War_Hamster 7 points ago +7 / -0

That's very cool to hear.

What state are you in?

8
crazyjackel 8 points ago +8 / -0

New York.

1
pmyourcovfefes 1 point ago +1 / -0

How are 16 and under affecting your college campus membership?

That being said my kid is a teenager and their group actively rejects the racist bigot homophobe stuff. In some ways more intolerant than my generation.

I hear being gay is because it’s popular, hate trans, Still a bit socialist (I forgot your hsa card at the pharmacy and need you to pay me back $30) identity politics turns them all off.

It’s an interesting road we’re on.

1
crazyjackel 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think that if you have something shoved down your throat and you are made to feel bad for doing nothing wrong, you are going to start hating those who are making you feel bad. A lot of us are here because that happened in gamergate, wherein one identity attacked another identity that they thought of as toxic, when in fact that identity wasn’t an identity, it was a bunch of individuals.

The issue is that control of culture, there isn’t a consolidated effort from us to make cultural products that express the failures of identarianism and how paralyzing it is.

16
Licensetomeme 16 points ago +16 / -0

Culture is a pendulum. Momentum is on the side of the right. Conservatism and a return to values that matter is the new counter culture. Seeing a bunch of pansies as what should be role models has flared a desire to step away from the soyboy sht they see replete on the tv. It’s cringe to them as it should be for anybody who’s even the least bit stable. Sorry but these pathetic trends have passed their fresh appeal. It’s staIe now..... Get woke, be a joke.

Yet they voted overwhelmingly for joepedo this election

35
Thereyago 35 points ago +35 / -0

Did they really though?

7
NormaJeanRocks 7 points ago +7 / -0

Pretty sure, watch a few Kaitlin Bennett videos. College kids are brainwashed to the extreme, most anyway.

2
UpTrump 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, they don't need fraud with the idiot college kids

14
War_Hamster 14 points ago +14 / -0

Are we sure about that? College kids are always going to be somewhat brainwashed, but I read recently that they might be the most Conservative generation of them all.

My nephew and his friends are way ahead of where I was at that age.

It may just be because of my brother and SIL are based as fuck and I spend a lot of my days off with their family, but my teenage nephews despise liberalism. Maybe the year out of school caused a break in the indoctrination, but hell

These kids roll their eyes at critical race theory and fake news and volunteer for church camp.

I rolled my eyes at church camp and ate up the academic propaganda at that age.

Just anecdotal, but so are my 18 and 14 year old nephews.

The trick is to get them to care enough about a subject to get off ass and go do the research.

FarmerWithAPitchfork 32 points ago +32 / -0

My 3rd grader ask me why the B in Black was capitalized when the W in White was not...it was a sentence they read in Scholastic News on MLK Day. "During this time, Black people and white people....." Yes. They are awake. Shit, they didn't see color until Feb. 1st in kindergarten when the school taught it to them during Black History Month.
