i don't get why people are trashing the president for meeting mccarthy. he's giving mccarthy one last chance to redeem himself. if he fires taylor green then we can review the whole trump trying to be friends with mccarthy thing. right now we can't judge anything unless marjorie taylor green actually gets expelled.

Trump gives way too many chances. Look where it got him. None of these people deserve a second chance! McCarthy talked so much shit on 6th and should never be forgiven or given a chance to redeem himself. The only answer is to run someone against him. How many people who were given 2nd to millionth chances stabbed the president in the back?
Pelosi gets a pass saying she will fumigate Trump out of the WH...Says they have arrows in her quiver...the list goes on. McCarthy says or does nothing, except supports Liz Cheney. He's in over his head or playing politics as usual.
He did more than that. He was basically saying Trump is no longer the leader of the GOP. He supported the NDAA bill even after Trump vetoed. He did not support election integrity. Liz Cheney should loose her committee chairmanship but she will not because she controls McCarthy. McCarthy is weak. He is no much for Pelosi.
I think McCarthy is meeting with Trump over fears of him starting a third party. I think he knows that the GOP are at a disadvantage and doesn't want to solit the vote. Unlike McConnell who is so sure of himself that he will come out on top over this GOP power struggle.
