It is in the UCMJ that they can not follow unlawful orders. The enlisted are patriots. They are also no where near as brain dead as people assume. I think active duty military would have an extremely hard time doing anything unconstitutional. The vast majority of us joined to DEFEND the constitution.
Their is a line between enlisted and officers. But if you think for a second the military isn’t use to getting bull shit orders, and having to do them while the entire population hates them, you missed out on some history. The problems the media, and what reality people with power are living in. We as a whole are allowing the propaganda, and we don’t know what that means for our arm forces leadership, especially when all we do is insult what should of led to revolution.
In the 1930s our military turned against fellow soldiers when ordered to break up the “bonus Army”. They were just vets who wanted their pay to feed their families. Just saying.

I dont think the rank and file in the military failed us , but I am not sure about the General staff. I think a large number of them have been compermise though.

depends on the individual soldier. For the obama drone attacks on Libya that killed 9 innocents for every terrorist, lots of soldiers objected. But they were forced to disciplinary actions for not following orders. What hell will they take to follow their moral compass?
