For the states that actually want a secure voting system, shouldn’t we be able to create a block chain voting system? With a block chain system, people could actually vote over the internet or in person with absolute integrity.

If you can’t show up to a polling place with ID and properly fill out a paper ballot, you shouldn’t be voting at all.

The govt doesn't want a really good system.

probably can but would take the miners 17 days to verify if built on gov standards

If I recall, USPS has a patent for exactly this.

It could easily be done. The problem is getting the politicians in charge to agree to use it and many of them won't go for it because it messes up the current system which favors their winning.

Besides the value of blockchain is in making it tamperproof. You still have to make sure all the inputs are not fraudulent at the very beginning.

That’s cute. You actually believe they want a secure voting system.

I don’t think blockchain would have prevented mail in ballots counted illegally and adjudicated by hand. The liberals wanted the machines to beat Trump but they were prepared this time with fake ballots and manual adjudication. Which the below comments are correct, you need a voter iD, paper ballots. Now what could be done is that you receive and email confirmation of your vote and who you voted for as evidence to be disputed in an election challenge.

I’m thinking of securing my state and worrying about the rest of them later. We have some house cleaning to do in the primaries.
