They also love to leave out the "... yearning to be free" part of the quote.

The Statue of Liberty had nothing to do with the poem “The New Colossus” which was internationalist propaganda after the civil war during the industrial revolution when rich monopoly businessmen were accumulating power and the “usual suspects” took over before getting Wilson to pass the National Reserve act in 1913-14 before he got suckered into WWI and the League of Nations by them as well... What a sucker...

speaking of propaganda -->

"The New Colossus" is a sonnet by American poet Emma Lazarus (1849–1887). She wrote the poem in 1883

to raise money for the construction of a pedestal for the Statue of Liberty

(Liberty Enlightening the World).

In 1903, the poem was cast onto a bronze plaque and

mounted inside the pedestal's lower level.

Yeah, what I usually forget or fail to get at is that the sonnet is now so closely associated with the statue to the point of twisting what the Statue of Liberty was about, which was never about immigration taking in the poor of the world. Both the New Colossus sonnet and the Melting Pot play shaped the perception of the Statue and America being an open borders world police welfare state...originally for cheap labor political manipulation just like today.

We need to destroy the statue of liberty, and beat the f*** out of anybody that ever quotes that stupid poem. The statue of liberty has nothing to do with the Constitution. Bring me no one, fix your own f****** country!!!

The MEME makes NO claim of relationship with the CONSTITUTION. You are making connections that do not exist.

Does everyone have Apophenia?

Seeing familiar objects or patterns in otherwise random or unrelated objects or patterns is called pareidolia. It's a form of apophenia, which is a more general term for the human tendency to seek patterns in random information. Everyone experiences it from time to time.

He's right though. It's symbolism. The statue of liberty is related to immigration. Kill the graven image, kill the idea.

Symbolism - is something that is up for interpretation and not a fact.

Are you seriously going to defend Tear Down That Statue, rather than fight the mis-application of what the statue (and poem) were ACTUALLY intended to represent?

quote -->The Statue of Liberty stands in Upper New York Bay,

a universal symbol of freedom.

Originally conceived as an emblem of the

friendship between the people of France and the U.S.

and a sign of their mutual desire for liberty,

over the years the Statue has become much more. end quote

The MEME STANDS on its own

The association that the statue of liberty has is of Ellis Island and boat loads of unwashed masses immigrating. So long as it stays, that symbol says there will always be immigration and unfortunately due to our laws, immigration from the 3rd world. To change what that statue means, we would need to have complete power over the government.

Truth be told, we will never control this current government ever again.

Civic nationalism doesn’t work because diversity isn’t a strength. Anerica cannot survive being ethnically replaced
