"The irony in all of this is that we write at a time in the history of this nation
when the conduct of our government and its officials is subject to wide‐open,
robust debate. This debate encompasses an extraordinarily broad range of ideas and viewpoints and generates a level of passion and intensity the likes of which
have rarely been seen. This debate, as uncomfortable and as unpleasant as it
frequently may be, is nonetheless a good thing. In resolving this appeal, we
remind the litigants and the public that if the First Amendment means anything,
it means that the best response to disfavored speech on matters of public concern
is more speech, not less." - BARRINGTON D. PARKER, Circuit Judge:
CONCLUSION
The judgment of the District Court is AFFIRMED.
Hell, this morning I stopped being able to see ANY comments on any channel when I logged into with my account. Different account and can see them. I think I got some kinda ban thing going on. No notification. Fucking techfacists.
I did submit a complaint on one a few days back, and their response was the following:
"Hello,
We're unable to determine your authority to bring this legal claim. The party whose legal rights are at issue - or their authorized representative - must notify us directly. If you're authorized to act on the party's behalf, please respond to this email specifying your relationship.
"I am an American Citizen with rights afforded to me by the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights. Specifically the 1st Amendment right to free speech. Due to the illegal actions of the YouTube user "The White House", of disabling comments on all of their publications, they are preventing me from providing MY SPEECH, or my feedback to their claims and statements to the public. I am a citizen and a member of the public that this government serves, and by disabling comments they prevent me from exercising my 1st amendment right to that free speech by preventing my feedback to their opinions or statements." This is based up on US Federal Court of Appeals 2nd Circuit ruling https://knightcolumbia.org/documents/a07ecc2a26/2019.07.09_ECF-141-1_Opinion.pdf
Specifically the Appeals Court ruled that, "We do conclude, however, that the First Amendment does not permit a public official who utilizes a social media account for all manner of official purposes to exclude persons from an otherwise‐open online dialogue because they expressed views with which the official disagrees."
and
"The White House had created a public forum in the interactive space of the Account, the court concluded that, by blocking the Individual commenters
because of their expressed political views, the government had engaged in viewpoint discrimination."
Thanks. I reworded it very slightly to be in line with my original complaint, but basically c&p'd your comment. I'll post a reply here if I receive one.
Update: they sent me literally the exact same "we're unable to determine your authority..." form response, in response to my statement saying that I am the affected party whose rights are at issue.
Nobody is even reading these complaints.
In America, you only get what you want if the consequences otherwise are riots and looting. Strongly worded letters do not scare the elite like the left's violence does.
No, the US Appeals Court ruling states that any social media account by a public official cannot ban, censor or limit feedback or communication related to the official. The White House disabling comments is a direct violation of that ruling. https://knightcolumbia.org/documents/a07ecc2a26/2019.07.09_ECF-141-1_Opinion.pdf
Remember when President Trump was not allowed to block anyone by the courts because it denied trolls their First Amendment rights and access to their government?
And the 2,900 thumbs down is likely + 290,000. They leave the thumb shaded in black, and turn off the counter. Complete fraud.
It's just whats best for the community.

Someone pushed it behind the scenes, because you can suddenly comment under the videos now.

I didn't know what to do next.
Tell them the following,

Ok this is brilliant - we need to get this to a top post and get it stickied

Send them a bag of dogshit.
Works every time.
Didn’t twitter block him while he was still president? Isn’t that interfering in 1A public discourse?
You’d think his legal team would have thought of that angle...
They were much too busy discussing their identities to see who was the most diverse.
I clicked the report button and nothing happened.....

Isn't it totally up to Youtube seeing as how they're a private company?

You might want to read it again. They can't block individuals because they disagree. They can block all comments altogether, though.
thats for bad Orange men only
Sue the fuck out of YouTube.
You’re saying you think the Biden admin should follow rules?
Pffff yeah that’s likely
Silly Pede, rules are for Reps, tricks are for Dems.
Nice reference. Does Twix cereal still exists? Lol, haven't had Twix since the 70s.

It's not Fascism when we do it!
No, they’re not allowed to block some people, blocking everyone won’t be a problem
It won’t matter, YouTube can just decide to follow some other country’s laws
