The line should have said "I won't forget the men who died to save those rights for me". Much more respectful
Men died in the Revolution to make the laws written in the Constitution, and Bill of Rights stand as our credo. Hence "The Liberty tree needs the blood of Patriots " I believe Jefferson said that.
