A Note on the Nature of Our Enemies, and Our Fight for Freedom
I recently watched a movie called "The Windermere Children."
It's based on a true story about Jewish children who were rescued from the Nazi concentration camps, at the end of WWII, who were brought back to England to recover, and eventually return to a more normal life.
It occurred to me that, as they were learning English and other skills, the most difficult lesson -- and the most important -- was learning how to be individuals again.
They had to learn that it was no longer dangerous to be different, to stand out from the others, to have their own desires and goals.
Then I thought about all those who are threatening our freedom today -- the Globalists, the Deep State, Cancel-Culture SJWs, Leftist Democrats and corrupt Republicans, United Nations bureaucrats and local city councils, Mainstream Media and Big Tech CEOs, Equity Activists and Communists, Social Planners and Artificial Intelligence Utopians -- they all have one thing in common...
They all want us to be commodities.
They view us as interchangeable cogs, in whatever technical, financial, political, or social system they have planned for us.
They share the Philosophy of Collectivism.
In their world, there is no room for us to be individuals.
Our freedom -- our unique desires, abilities, failures, achievements, and any ideas we might communicate -- are a threat to their vision, which is a system where we live according to their rules, a system where they hold the authority and make the profits.
Collectivism is the evil which we are fighting, and it is no less dangerous when they put a pretty face on it, and call it "equality" or "Democratic Socialism."
The only philosophical system that is proper for a human being is Individualism. And that requires a political system which maximizes justice and freedom -- otherwise we cease to be human beings, and become nameless wards of the state.
The Founding Fathers didn't ask for free healthcare, a guaranteed income, and protection from being offended.
They demanded the Right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
