Man, more and more I get tempted to set up a website called snopeswatch which dissects the mental gymnastics they get up to. Other "fact checking" sites as well.

It makes me sad. I was around when Snopes first got on Usenet and he seemed like a nice enough lad. I don't know whether it's him or he's just fallen in with nefarious influences.

Something like that would be awesome. Maybe even highlight trending/current stories from left, right, and center(if there are any left) outlets. My thought with that is it allows people to see the spin from all angles. Remove the spin and breakdown the facts!

My worry about fact checking would be that it would end up as biased as all the others, maybe is a different direction (though as we've seen, it only takes a few poisonous employees to swing things psychopathically left). This would more be about deconstructing the spin these sites are using.

The meaning of words has never been a big concern for these people, I expect less so now that they are in power.

ANY POWER THAT THEY MAY CURRENTLY PERCEIVE IS TRANSIENT. JUST WATCH AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

...there's no "single universally-agreed definition?"

I'm sure they can get Mirriam-Webster right on that. :D
