I support Texit, the reason being is that our country has way to much power and not a lot of control rests with the everyday citizen. Power is being consolidated centrally and that has always resulted in injustices. The fuck-ups become astronomical in scale, rather than negligible.

100%, the battle it would take to allow my children to grow up with the same freedoms I had would take at least a decade. Texas should do it for America. Other states could follow with the example Texas set and there could be little slices of freedom left in this country.

I'm not about to move there, but I'd be sorry to see it go because we'd lose a proud red state. It's unlikely to happen anyway.

I'm with you on this one. I wish NC would join in but we barely are a red state anymore. I'm completely surrounded by progressive Liberals in the most populated county in the state and it fucking blows.

We should fight for our state. Look Ahead America had a 3 hour class on how to lobby legislatures for change that was free. I high recommend you look at that organization and get involved. I live in Wilmington so of course the Uni town is going to be more blue than red unfortunately, so I can relate. We need to find our like minded people so we can gather and make changes at the local level, the fight starts there.

I only support workable solutions. Texit is as realistic as frog-marching, and the idiots who whine "nothing happened!!!!"

This has been a long play by the Texas Nationalist Movement. They have worked long and hard since 2005 to fight for Texit. Change can take years and be daunting but if any climate is ripe for this movement to succeed since the foundation in 2005, it is now. They are putting a vote to the people just like Brexit did and they can follow that model. Texas has the best chance of being able to be independent without the resources from the US and if other states follow suit, they can for an alliance with Texas so even if they don't have the infrastructure in place, it is still a viable option. No. If TX leaves the lefts best friend, China, will be knocking at your door within a decade. Most Texans are to short sighted to see where that goes. They can't muster up the nuts to fight forbtheir country now, you think they will later on?

I think the problem is that Texans feel like there is no other option. They fought and were told they have no standing. The only other option that I can think is to start sending absurd numbers of electoral college votes or being like “we have 10 senators and 100 reps now, anyone who disagrees, unfortunately, has no standing”

That would be a better option. It Texas becomes its own country it will be like Isreal, surrounded by enemies. China will be rolling up to their boarders within a decade. They won't care about the people or the infrastructure. They'll glass the entire state and get rid of Texans with a leaf blower.

They fought and were told they have no standing.

You completely understand the situation for all of the states.
