It's so interesting to watch the one person who had any sense of principles hold back a deluge of leftist propagandists. I really liked Stewart. But I am kinda surprised how literally every one else on that show poured out ready to hate trump.
I think Jon Stewart was one of the key reasons why Trump got elected, and why society is so divided. He, more than anyone else I'd argue, made it mainstream to think anyone who disagrees with you about politics is a moron. I mean obviously people had political disagreements, but he made it a common, every day thing.
Think back to like 2007, 2008, when people literally got their news from the daily show. Literally. He really in my opinion helped to create the great political divide.
Jon Stewart ... made it mainstream to think anyone who disagrees with you about politics is a moron.
A thousand times, yes. His bilious children infest social media to this day.
Not to mention the silent snipe of mocking Republican policies, while only mildly criticizing Democrats for not being Left enough. Obama or Hillary or someone did something mildly commonsensical, and his reply to the audience was, "WALK IT OFF, YOU PUSSIES!" Very much running defense for Dems.
I could never stand that faggot even when i was a leftist. Something about him was so... reprehensible.

There was an article I read shortly after the election in '16 that stated this much more eloquently than I can. I can't find it. But this is of a similar vein - https://thefederalist.com/2016/11/11/how-jon-stewart-and-the-daily-show-elected-donald-trump/
