U.S. Congress does not have any constitutional power to influence an Article V convention, and there is no presidential veto. This is the states' domain, via state legislatures.
To date, 15 states have passed the resolution. We need 34.
Because the United States Congress will NEVER relinquish its own power.
Our nation's founders were eminently wise to include this alternative method of reigning in the federal government... for exactly the reasons we are now witnessing.
I plan on running for a seat in the near future. I'd also like to add on to this and say that members of Congress should have their salaries directly tied with the median income of their constituents.
