You are absolutely right. A great perfume or scent and you will wear it for life.
Do you ever pass by someone and they smell great and you tell them?
Earth notes are my jam. Woody, dark, rich notes. Rose/flowers scents make me gag. In school for massage therapy we learned about the Traditional Chinese Medicine 5 elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) and the corresponding traits. Im born in april (wood) and have a natural woody/earthy smell. My friends say they like smelling me, it makes them calm.
What do you gravitate towards? What turns you off?
Well, in fairness I cant buy 7 virtues Vanilla Woods Perfume at the local drug store. But i found a nice alternative at L'Occitaine en Provence.
Im very picky about perfume and dont like the chemical garbage out there.
But i learned to improvise, adapt and overcome.
Perfume is the one place that I will spend hard earned cash - Shalimar is that wonderful. Great perfume is a work of Art.

I love amber notes, musks and vanilla! I actually really love a bright citrusy floral for day wear too!
