A big problem in weightlifting is that the exercise perform and recommended by the experts require years of basic strength training in order for it to be tolerated and useful this discourages a lot of beginners that are not used to the demands off programs performed by experienced lifters.

The purpose of weightlifting is not to learn more exercises but to get strong

A similar problem is seen with the production of experts by means of academic education, they have been given advanced tools, and lots of knowledge, but not the clarity of mission

We qualify doctors not by their record saving and curing but by academic accomplishments and grants, or by how nice they are to their patients .., meanwhile nobody’s really keeping score of who does more good than harm

The bottom line is that everybody does it and the reason is because we don’t want to take responsibility we want to delegate the judgment of character and skill to a third-party... so we can have someone that we can point our finger towards when things go bad we are so terrified by failure that we just don’t know how to deal with it

You're quite wrong.

Not everybody does it - you do it!

Society is structured around delegation but, you blame the individual, for shame!

Some of the most solid advice for life that I ever heard, sounded like the most ignorant, thoughtless commentary, upon first hearing.

Individuals don't give grants to doctors. Individuals, at least up until my generation was being reared, were commanded to:

respect the doctor, respect the teacher, respect the white lab coat, respect the 'authority'.

The only authority these monsters have, is that which we surrender to them, as we were commanded to do.

Doctors are quacks - That goes back to laurel and hardy but, was delivered as comedy. Now, you might call it programming.

All politicians are crooks - as true now, as it was in the 70s.

Labour are useless - this applies to democrats, I s'pose.

Socialism is communism - well, I see that, now.

My point is that, all of the traps that we fall into, are placed there, for us.

We are encouraged to fail.

It strikes me that, the more these things are treated with scepticism, and given short-shrift, the healthier and wealthier we stand a chance to be.

Can't relate that back to weightlifting but, weightlifting was a crappy analogy, in the first place!
