For sure I'd recommend a VPN. I use one and it once seemed to backfire when Twitter somehow decided I must have been 'spam' or a bot or something and emailed something about being an automatic spam system and something about locations. Still, get a VPN happening.
Rob also talks about deleting data. I've said its not just enough to end your Facebook or your Twitter account but why leave them a big huge delicious amount of the only thing they ever wanted from you: all that data. Why let them have that?

Some suggested that if you were to (for example) join a Proud Boys Page then also join the "Women for Kamala Page" and for fun choose 'Cats' as your favorite movie of all-time and your hobby is guns and crochet courses. You get the idea, also be bullshitting them. Tag random unrelated people as your dad. Change your locations. Hashtag Trumpwon and BlackLivesMatterMore or whatever seemingly contradictory and sideways tags you can.
I'm not nearly into this stuff but from what I can gather this really does weaken and wreck their entire plan, it really does lower the value of their product (which is you) and it really does force them into a lot of timewasting and headscratching hours.
