A lot of people around here are super pissed off at the military right now, and I get that. But the bigger issue IMO is the fact that the military kind of puts its senior officers on a certain trajectory and it’s very hard to escape that.
Sad part is, after reading what you wrote, I can see how that could have happened to me had I been in the military. So, at least you got my noodle going.

The military is an all-consuming world. Not just a job, but your whole life. Leaving can fuck with a lot of things.
We need to fix that.
