When the hell is Trump going to get on Gab or something so he can communicate with his supporters again?

144
Staatssicherheit 144 points ago +192 / -48

Probably because he doesn't trust Gab and may start his own media platform. Who owns Gab? Is it going to be like another black rifle coffee company?

250
thenotfakepaul 250 points ago +261 / -11

Andrew Torba owns Gab, and he is MAGA as frick. Gab was deplatformed 5 years ago for not censoring conservatives.

IMO the play is to invest 100m or so into gab, and let them build out a free speech cloud provider to compete with AWS/Azure/GCP.

41
pinchitony 41 points ago +89 / -48

He presents himself as "MAGa as frick", doesn't mean he actually is. I'm not trying to slander him, just pointing the obvious.

Parler was very popular but it had many obvious and apparent flaws. Whatever Trump joins will be benefited by that, not the other way.

Andrew Torba is extremely based if you've seen what he has done. Gab is where we go.

56
GreatWhiteBuffalo 56 points ago +62 / -6

Torba def based. He is a badass. Takes on all the evil monsters in the wide open. VISA banned his whole family for crying out loud. Torba also had no love for parler and called them on their shortcomings. Gab is all the free public speech that is left.

Edit: Gab is not perfect tho lol

FireannDireach -6 points ago +7 / -13

Gab is a private platform, 1st. doesn't apply. They might allow you freedom to speak about certain things right now, but there's no guarantee they can/will in the future, and it's in no way unConstitutiona if they do.

And, looking at their TOS, they claim rights that would be un-Constitutional, if it was a "public" space covered by the 1st:

We have the right to disable any user name, password, or other identifier, whether chosen by you or provided by us, at any time if we believe you have violated any provision of these Terms of Service.

They have the right, by the terms of their service that you agreed to signing up, to deplatform you at a moment's notice. (Which is just common sense these days, especially with 4chan clods shitting on every open forum) Further, you have no redress in court, especially in the SCOTUS, where a Constitutional case would end up at.

Blatant mis-understanding of the 1st is endemic everywhere these days, and most people really should educate themselves. The Constitutional protections do not cross into private platforms, it's a right that the government "shall pass no law", not "no corporation can tell you to shut the hell up and get the hell out."

Also note I am not claiming Gab or it's owners will do anything like that. They seem to be committed to not doing that - but like anything in the modern world, things change. But they are not offering you anything protected by the 1st. Never did.

Disclaimer: I don't use Gab, have no stake in it, nor do I have any opinion on them, and who owns/runs them. I'm perfectly fine with Gab, I just don't use their service.

ActualAdult 2 points ago +2 / -0

Gab is not free speech tho. The guy just got the libertarians against him for claiming porn isn't speech, which is dumb. edit: you downvoting guys should pay attention more closely to things instead of going around with your "I trust him because I feel it in the gut" dumb strategy. You are going to get played. I've seen many entrepreneurs be all glory and promises and shit and then when they get around, they turn. Again, not saying he will, but he's already flawed from the start, my hopes in Torba are low, you can go and suck his dick as much as you want tho.

39
CaptainHempbeard 39 points ago +53 / -14

I mean, porn isn't speech.

You fucking retard.

26
Siteless_Vagrant 26 points ago +34 / -8

You need to go re- read the 1st amendment. If you've ever read it to begin with.

The go ahead and read it a few more times.

Then take your ass on back to 4 chan.

16
PatriotHuey 16 points ago +20 / -4

if you want under 18s on your platform you have to ban porn. Any Libertarian worth their salt is fine with that.

8
loverat 8 points ago +10 / -2

Yeah like there aren't already 2523847239874928374 places on the Internet devoted to fucking porn. Andrew T has been fighting the fight for conservative free speech long before any of you little cunts showed up. Let me guess, like a fucking sheep you went to Parler when many of us warned it wasn't secure, was absolutely arse at what it was supposed to do and ran like shit and are now butthurt. Who builds a fucking free speech platform on Amazon servers ffs? Gab has it's own hardware. If you want to keep accessing your child porn just get on Twitter.

6
NotAPuma 6 points ago +6 / -0

Why would we want to be allowing Porn? FFS.

This is because conservatives are suckers.

11
pinchitony 11 points ago +25 / -14

It's healthy skepticism. Anyone might look real straight, but after a huge pile of cash, some death threats, and/or a few lawsuits at your door… Not everyone is as much of a soldier as they seem.

17
Devildtails 17 points ago +23 / -6

There is a time and place for skepticism. Torba is as based as they come. This isn’t the time or place for your skepticism. If things change down the road, very well. But for now, Torba is in.

Also if you have seen what he has gone through yet stood strong in his beliefs and convictions really shows how MAGA he is.

7
Maxronald 7 points ago +8 / -1

I get your skepticism but i have personally talked with andrew torba back in 2016 and this guy is legit based. Hes been fighting with SV way before any of us even realized what was going on. He said "ive been screaming this for years. Now you guys finally see.". After talking with him twice via phone, i am convinced 1000% he is the real deal and will fight as hard as the rest of us. The rest of his work speaks for itself. Make no mistake, andrew torba is based af.

-2
pinchitony -2 points ago +4 / -6

It's your word, I haven't personally talked with him. All I see is another SV entrepreneur, as many I have seen, making promises and being "disruptive". He is claiming "free speech" and already failed at that by claiming "porn isn't speech", which it is; and this doesn't relate to him allowing it in his platform or not, which I side with him in that it shouldn't be allowed as it makes a healthier platform…  but it's a deep lack of judgment to not understand that it IS speech, it is a huge flaw.

No amount of "trust me" you can say will change that fact until he corrects his skewed thinking.

And it's not that I care much about porn, but, for example, I do care about 3D printing, and the only reason 3D Printed guns are a thing is because the source files are considered speech. When you have someone willing to cross the line, like Torba, I just see another problem and tech dictator to be in the making, and probably a worse one.

2
ViolettFem 2 points ago +2 / -0

@Pinch Look, he offers an alternative to Twitter - he's not asking you to risk losing your firstborn or your beloved dog/kitty. Post there or not. When it wasn't affected by thousands of new people crashing it, it's been a great alternative. It's more user friendly than Parler imo too.

They don't have to and shouldn't host Porn - there's THOUSANDS of those sites, go there. You're safer at Gab than any or all other similar sites that exist.
I don't have to have implicit trust in a CEO to chat on a site - heck, I used Twitter & FB with zero trust for years

1
ThisClaimIsDisputed 1 point ago +4 / -3

3d printed guns are a thing because 2nd amendment is a thing.

3d print yourself a 4 year old waifu and film a porn film with her and that isn't free speech

1
Maxronald 1 point ago +1 / -0

A healthy dose of skepticism isnt bad, but I also think you are way more educated on this too. I consider myself pretty informed these days, Im an avid gun collector, and even I was not aware of 3d printed gun source files being considered speech, but you educated me, and I like what you are saying. Tbh, id go one further and say, i dont even care if porn is on the platform. We are all grown adults. Id be willing to bet Torba would probably agree if you put it in those terms. You've sold me.

All that said, you are right, tho, ultimately anyone at the top could, and likely will, do something the masses, or minority may not like.

Oddly enough Twitter is actually looking to make a decentralized version of it. While I dont know the details and I remain highly skeptical, thats really the only way I see it being possible to prevent that issue. The only way for everyone to have control is for no one to have control (decentralization). And that goes for all social media platforms. There are plenty of issues still to be solved and they arent even technical. E.g. what happens if they post a naked picture of you? That shit is forever and no one can take it down. Just 1 example, but you can see how it solves and creates a problem.

Eh, fuck it, maybe we just nuke the internet and go back to the old days. ???

2
anonymousdonor 2 points ago +2 / -0

"I don't trust a platform explicitly dedicated to free speech but I trust this new thing Twitter is doing!"

0
pinchitony 0 points ago +1 / -1

Yeah, been watching a lot of 3d printing guns tutorials and stuff. It's very interesting, and they just got away with that because they won the case getting a ruling saying that 3d files are speech, thus, protected by the first amendment. Of course the tutorials and shit are banned, ironically, in many sites, but the files are totally fine to share and keep, which is nuts.

Btw, kudos to you for really considering my point, first person I see on the Internet actually do it after months or maybe years.

I don't really trust twitter to come up with a solution to censorship, and if they do, they are probably going to nerf it in some way. The example you bring is very much the main issue with the internet in general. I think the best is to leave some way of being accountable for what you post, like asking you to confirm your identity if you want to be allowed into a "free speech" network that can't censor your content, but law enforcements can prosecute you if you do break the law. Idk, just thinking out loud.

Nuking the internet does sound like a good alternative ha. But in the meanwhile, we need to figure this out somehow.

Expanding their servers to accommodate an influx of millions of users.

Give them time. You should have seen how the site was running 2 weeks ago.

2

I did see it . . and I've mostly stayed off it. It wasn't so much that it was so slow, my posts wouldn't post.

But ya, he said they were adding servers as fast as possible to keep up with demand. I'm waiting till it clears up. I like the format better than Parler's

21
ProductConnoisseur 21 points ago +22 / -1

I recall reading on here that Kushner instructed him not to join either Gab or Parler after being banned from Twitter. What is Jared playing at? Trump ought to have joined a Twitter alternative and mirrored all his tweets there early in his presidency, moving over completely when they started flagging his tweets.

18
LiskaEman 18 points ago +18 / -0

If I go off of the Sekulow's expertise on the matter (which is probably pretty accurate since they've been working with Trump for a while) he hasn't gotten on social media again because they know whatever platform he comes on will come under a huge amount of attacks by the government/leftists/etc. So Trump's being very careful about how/where he communicates for the moment.

If he joins Gab, those fuckers will do everything they can to shut it down.

2
LiskaEman 2 points ago +2 / -0

I was wondering why he hadn't joined anything yet either, and wondered about the silence. Then I heard the comment from Jordan on the ACLJ's channel and I got that "ohhhhhh!".

So yeah, not only does he strategically get more from being 'silent' (my opinion), he doesn't want the attacks to roll from him onto whatever platform it is, as we know it will.

He'll be back, we're just not sure in which form yet!

I just glanced through. You’re right those top comments don’t appear organic. I wonder why this is happening. I get trying not to split the movement, but both sides need to be held to account otherwise we are no better than the MSM.

Also, you had great notes in the comments. It is a shame that no one Is hearing about this.

I don’t know if I really trust Byrne. But his accounts would shock me zero if they are true. Per him, Rudy was more interested in booze than looking at fraud.

5
CuomoisaMassMurderer 5 points ago +8 / -3

Correction: he expected Courts would not look at fraud. Therefore he presented only procedural tricks. And got outtricked. This is why the laches, standing etc bs.

If absolutely 0 evidence was ever included in any of the 63 cases filed, that would SUCK. On one hand. On the other hand it might mean that our whole system isn't as irretrievably fucked as I thought.

But yes Rudy was sloshed everyday per Byrne.

He said on one his Common Sense episodes that from a legal perspective, he is technically a witness and too close to Trump as well as the events of Jan 6 so he can't be used to defend Trump. Trump has to find a good third party lawyer.

Also nowhere does it say "former" President. Very deliberate phrasing.

6

3

It's standard for former Presidents to be referred to as just "President".

Yes, but this was a little different. Every instance included the "45th" as a cushion.

Andrew Torba of Gab has suggested that the wimpy Jared Kushner is the one preventing PDJT from using Gab. Don't know if this is correct, but I sure did not like JAVANKA being on Team Trump.

1

Yeah, that's going to make Trump want to use his platform. Attacking his family. Is this true? Do you have an exact quote? I really don't want to cast judgement on Torba for being an absolute fucking idiot.

POTUS could tie up the senate for months if he wants to and create a lot of problems for the Dem commies. Watch for a move to go to a censure agreement when they realize the damage is hurting them. That's when you know it's over.

Senate: "We censure you because you were naughty."

POTUS: "Oh fuck off. I have a tee time in 5 minutes."

6
CuomoisaMassMurderer 6 points ago +6 / -0

I'd love to see this!

3
darthmohawk1 3 points ago +3 / -0

Does being "censured" actually do anything, legally-speaking? Or is it just a way for people to waggle their finger and go "naughty, naughty, naughty" ?

The Dems/Deep State are trying to drain Trump's account with endless lawsuits and IRS investigations until he bends the knee and gives up. They will go after his family and all of his supporters. You thought the Tea Party witch hunt was bad? Patriots are seeing the manipulation of EVERYTHING. Redundancies pedes. Build in many redundancies.

8

100% this needs to be a substantial part of the argument. The cucks that stepped down did so in protest of the argument Trump wanted to make, which is the correct argument – the election was stolen.

19
ImpeachThisBitch 19 points ago +19 / -0

They really do get to make up their own rules, do whatever they want. I saw the Congress critter presiding over it came down with the coof. Any adjustments for that or are they forging ahead?

3
ProphetOfKek 3 points ago +3 / -0

I have not seen them say what they will do now. Pre Pro Tempore is supposed to preside when Chief Justice doesn’t, but I don’t know if he legally can delegate. Not that they care about breaking rules.

10
nairebis 10 points ago +11 / -1

I really hope Trump will keep pounding home that an impeachment trial requires 1) being the current President, and 2) the chief justice, and thus is only a mock trial. Just keep calling it a "mock trial" and never give it an ounce of legitimacy.

2
CuomoisaMassMurderer 2 points ago +2 / -0

This does not require the Chief Justice because it is not the current President. You can't have both.

I do agree the whole thing is a sham, as was the last one.

6
the_archivist 6 points ago +6 / -0

Correction, you must have both.

-2
CuomoisaMassMurderer -2 points ago +0 / -2

If it's not the current President, you don't need the chief justice.

Now in terms of needing both, impeachment has the penalty of removal from Office AND other stuff, so I don't know why you'd bother with impeaching someone who isn't in Office since it can't result in the specified results.

Honkler is in overdrive

8
the_archivist 8 points ago +8 / -0

That was made up on the spot and has no basis in fact.

To impeach a president, you need the chief justice, and they have to be in office.

1
CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well I certainly like that better. It's as if you think the Constitution matters anymore?

1
Julia_J 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't follow the news. You mean to say they are trying to impeach Trump again right now? What are they trying to accomplish????

1
nairebis 1 point ago +2 / -1

If he's impeached, he can't run again.

8
PresidentErectHunter 8 points ago +8 / -0

Mitch and Romney run the show. Mitch is leaning towards conviction and Mitch will get the votes if he wants to convict.

This is their chance to get rid of Trump forever.

8
SomeoneInHouston 8 points ago +9 / -1

There's "no getting rid of Trump forever." THAT'S the issue.

Trump is running the Republican party. D.C. just doesn't realize it, yet.

President Trump is doing exactly what Obama did the last four years. He's setting things in motion to retake D.C. With what Biden has done in the first 10 days, alone, he has Democrats seriously rethinking their decision. I have a friend that can't stand my messages to him but he realizes I had to take his four years of Trump so he has to take my ??? days / weeks / years of Biden.

6
PresidentErectHunter 6 points ago +6 / -0

"Getting rid of Trump" means Trump cannot run in 24 if convicted.

Let's face it, there is nobody else at the moment with the charisma of Trump.

We don't know when or if someone worthy comes along. He might come along tomorrow or 10 years from now.

That is HUGE and has to be the only reason Mitch and The Swamp are bothering with this Dog and Pony Show Trial. Get rid of candidate Trump forever.

1
Julia_J 1 point ago +1 / -0

Are they trying to impeach Trump again? For what crime????

2
PresidentErectHunter 2 points ago +2 / -0

For "Inciting an Insurrection" by calling for Patriots to come to DC and ask that every vote be counted.

Meanwhile Ruby Freeman, her suitcase and her 300 pound Trump hating daughter remain free.

I have turned OFF all media and don't even think Citizens have ever received an explanation on what she was doing. Give Ruby immunity if she gives up her masters. We just want the truth on FRAUD.

1
mikethemarine 1 point ago +1 / -0

won't happen, impeachment is the house job conviction is the senate, he has been impeached, not convicted, remember DC is located outside of the united states, it is the same as Puerto Rico, the united states government is a corporation my belief is the civil war was fought to stop this https://www.loc.gov/law/help/statutes-at-large/41st-congress/session-3/c41s3ch62.pdf

5
Barthaneous 5 points ago +5 / -0

Is it me or am I just not thinking correctly?

If the law is not being upheld by the judges and local legislature, and they dismiss or deny evidence and proofs, then what good is a legal team if no matter who it is that is the lawyer the judge that presides over the case will just refuse the lawyers evidence and legal points.

We just saw it happen nation wide . So what difference does this make?

1

Where was he during the fight against fraud in Georgia? Where is he now fighting to prevent it from happening again? What are Republican legislatures doing about the fraud?

2
rockettails 2 points ago +2 / -0

He signed the amicus brief and accused Georgia of facilitating fraud alongside Trump. The man lost his job after getting fucked by his party for an establishment swamp rat, I don't think he was feeling too hot at the time to be out there breathing fire. It's easy to do so when you're relatively comfortable. Hawley still has his job. Jim Jordan still has his job. Trump has phat stax to see him through. Doug doesn't, seeing as how the GOP treated him, I think that's a hint he wasn't ethically compromised like the majority of Washington.
