Trump told people to peacefully make their voices heard, despite an unfolding situation that justified taking drastic action.

While the political leaders, the federal agencies, the courts of Justice, and the military stood idly by, gazing at their shoestrings and muttering flimsy excuses for betraying their solemn oaths, impotently allowing Communist China to brazenly steal the executive seat of national authority, a few hundred thousand unarmed citizens from the left AND the right intervened, and proved with boldly demonstrated but largely nonviolent action that the people are the ultimate source of authority in this country, and we will not silently acquiesce to be ruled by tyrants.

It was not a coup, or an attempt at insurrection, easily proven by the fact that not a single shot was fired from the crowd. It was a demonstration that clearly showed that the consent of the governed CAN be withdrawn

This. Seriously, why does practically everyone here think that making the politicians scared of the people is a bad thing?

Because it accomplished nothing but giving Democrats an excuse to crack down on conservatives. If they wanted to violently overthrow the fucking government, they should've brought guns and gone all in, literally occupying and holding the building. Instead they did just enough to give the media a 24/7 "insurrection" narrative and Democrats an excuse to re-impeach Trump, and succeeded only in taking attention away from legitimate efforts to expose election fraud.

Anyone who thought it was a good idea to wander through those doors without any sort of plan was a fucking idiot. Trump wanted everyone peacefully protesting outside, not breaking through the doors to make crank calls at Nancy Pelosi's desk "for teh lolz".

It was demonstrating that that building is the people's house. That the government is run by the people. That if you fail to represent We the People there will be problems. Wandering through the doors was the plan.

You're mad that they didn't get their 2 hours of debate as if that was something of value. As if that Hail Mary would have mattered in a game where the refs were never bothered by any rule book. We had already been silenced. Conservative ideas were already being targeted. Your idea was Ted Cruz arguing for a few hours and then hoping the rinos didn't rino? C'mon man.

Okay, so what did a couple hundred MAGA hats wandering through the halls of the Capitol and someone getting shot in the throat accomplish for us? Sure doesn't seem like we got anything out of it.

giving Democrats an excuse to crack down on conservatives.

THEY DO NOT NEED AN EXCUSE.

  1. They were going to do that anyway.

  2. They have all three branches of government.

So they didn’t make the government scared of them but you’re arguing against why that’s a bad idea and saying they should’ve done something more that would make the government scared
