As a retired 20 year NG Officer most people are missing a key aspect of the NG right now. 95% of the NG work part-time for the NG. Actually less than PT. More like one weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer outside of a deployment now and then which now is almost never.
These are volunteer citizen Soldiers who love their towns, friends, families. They are either going to college, working while going to college or, just working other jobs...electricians, plumbers, IT, construction...you name it they are doing it. They are fused into the community unlike active duty.
The Pentagon fucked up using NG to fight their wars. Over 50% of combat power is now NG. If shit really hit the fan they are not firing on their own towns and people due to unlawful orders. Don't ever believe that for a minute. I retired not that long ago and I can assure you that ain't happening. Think about that for a minute. Biden is fucked if he thinks he's going to lay down the law on Red states with the NG. Not happening. They are not shooting their own people.

What few NG members were for Biden have probably all turned red by now. These NG members need to be sent home, I'm sure most if not all of them need to go back to their jobs and families. Many were probably already struggling from lack of or reduced income from the lockdowns, and there's the additional hardships on their families caused by their extended absence. There is absolutely no reason for them to be in DC, and Biden doesn't care at all - he's just using them to send a fake message. He doesn't care about them or their families. He's in the WH through fraudulent means and he knows it.

So what you’re saying is that if a massive number of people peacefully gathered in DC and peacefully tried to access the seat of their own federal government to peaceably request a redress of grievances, that the NG folks stationed there would not prevent it through the use of force?

All military units are disarmed in the States. The ammo is kept at ammo depots outside of general defense. It's not sitting in units around the country. Regardless, the probability of US Soldiers shooting at unarmed protesters is a fucking pipe dream. Not happening. This is a problem for Biden because all States have to do is refuse to follow his unlawful orders and that is that is my point. Want to finish the pipeline, sure. Get a few states to say fuck Biden and he won't do shit about it. Just build the damn thing. Nobody is getting shot over a fucking piece of pipe.

I wonder if they (the installed overlords) could be made to freak out harder if people point out to them that civilian available mags are compatible with the military firearms. Make them put trigger, magazine or cable locks into them or just outright make them stand guard without any arms.
They believe the National Guard will shoot on unarmed protestors because they believe the propaganda about Kent State, where the claim is the guard slaughtered those poor Kent State students for no reason. Except none that died were Kent State students, much less active students ANYWHERE, and the slug from the .38 that caused the attack was found.

The US military got its ass kicked by people using fertilizer and lamp wire. Not even guns for the most part. WTF do you think is going to happen. We are not really good defeating lowly people with strong ideals that will last way longer than Biden and Harris. Losing the "hearts and minds" is a real thing. They already lost that aspect.

IMO ordered to fire on fellow citizens and NG actually doing so will be the spark that starts a civil war. I dont want it to happen, but if you look at all civil wars excluding the US Civil War (which was unique to itself for multiple reasons) but including the US Revolutionary war (which was a civil war), that is the spark that starts them.
