We only tolerated it because there was no other option and we believed what they were selling could be achieved through them. That illusion is gone. The GOP is the end of the right. 3rd party is the only way.
Another reason the GOP is dead is the full entranchment of the two party system. There are more democrats that refuse to vote republican because they've spent their whole lives fighting them than there are GOPe lovers. A new party doesn't have that history with people.
