Went to a Republican politician's luncheon today and spoke to a teacher at a public school and a parent who send their kid to catholic school.
Public school teacher said they are now required to read books to 5 year olds about Jazz (trannie kid from reality TV show who chopped off his penis) to "educate" them about genders.
Parent of catholic school kid said religion teacher was salivating about what a great catholic Biden is and how beautiful the inauguration was and how she could tell his oath was from the heart unlike the last president.
In short, nowhere is safe. If you do choose to send your kids you must be on top of their schoolwork and countering the indoctrination they are getting every day.
At first, I tried to make the government schools work for my kids, because I paid so much fucking tax money into them, and doing it myself takes up so much time and resources. But it was a fucking disaster, psychotic leftist bully zone. Also, on IEP meetings they scored infinity, but on results they scored zero. Then we tried private schools, some were shit, some were good, but in the end the good ones were too expensive (but a lot of the expensive ones were surprisingly not good).
Finally, we just had to home school. I didn't even want to, but nobody else is going to do it right, and I didn't want to destroy my kids. I think in some areas I'm stronger than the government schools, and in other areas weaker, but at least my kids aren't growing up to be a bunch of fucknuts. My kids are very independent minded, so I always thought I would have difficult teens, but that didn't happen.
I've noticed that a lot of parents of friends and co-workers are having huge problems with their teens, but my kids had none of the problems these other parents did.
Anyhow, don't presume anything with the schools. Check on your kids, and figure out what they are being taught, and what is going on every day. You'd be surprised all the shit that goes on without you even knowing it.
By the way, I've lived in both leftist states and conservative states. The conservative states are better, but trust me, they are well on their way to the shit hole if we don't get the government out of education.
I’m trying to convince my wife to homeschool, but not sure if we can afford single-income household.
Made an account just to tell you, check out easy peasy all in one homeschool online. It's free and easy. We supplement with that and use accelerated Christian academy (ace). It was around $300 or less for the whole yr when they were little, a little more for high school. There are a lot of free, cheap or affordable curriculum. Also look on fb or something for a local homeschool group, parents group up to help each other teach and do field trips.
