My new workplace closes at the drop of a snowflake. The owner is a lib. We are all hourly, and have been losing days of pay because they close for snow. Then they play like they’re great people for closing, “enjoy your day off and stay safe!!” Are we school children? Does anyone else’s work do this?

I worked for an outfit where the main office was 70 miles south of our location at a higher elevation, and we would get 3x the snow the main office would, so we often had the opposite happen: we would have to drive in HORRIBLE conditions, get stuck, get in accidents, etc because they were having flurries or no snow down there. . .
In Colorado when I was a kid it required bout 12 inches of snow for school to close, we’d have to walk 2 miles thru snow yet today a slight dusting of snow and school and all businesses close for 2 days minimum....pussification of Americans. We’re here.
Yeah, if it's bad enough.
I live in Idaho and the place I used to work at was run by NorCal faggots.
They closed up the office when there was an inch of snow on the ground. I didn't care. I got paid and I went home early and played CoD.
But there have been legit snowstorms here that last sometimes weeks that have shut the city down because people cannot get out of driveways due to ice or snow. The snow would fall faster than it can be bulldozed and then at night, the roads freeze.
Snowstorms have names now FFS
When i was a kid in the 70s they were just called Blizzards
back when everyone's car was 2wd.
And rear wheel at that . We survived no problem in the NE
moon boots were for sissies
Holy shit lol i forgot about those . They were super gay. I wore work boots
Mine did, until covid. But it is a place of "higher" education. If the campus closed we weren't expected to work either. Now the classes just go virtual and we still have to work...from home, as we have been for almost a year
My company closed for a day one time, but only because our forklifts couldn't get around.
It depends on how much snow and how scared the boss is of driving in it. . .
Some places do in my city. Think it totally depends where you live. Minnesotans are far better equipped to handle snow due to its frequency than places that only get hit once or twice a Winter.
