If you are considering an antenna check out antenna.tv. Put in your zipcode and see what you get in your area. Larger market more programming. ATSC 3.0 will be kicking off strong in a few years so even more programming. All 4K with high quality sound and all FREE.

I have always only had antenna tv - but since the election... I can't have it on much. I have to mute the commericals because the news or covid sneaks in & pisses me off.

Raspberry pi media center. It's easy.

You can also swap out the sd card for a RetroPi setup and play every single vintage video game.

Ditched cable 15 years ago.

I dropped cable after i realized all i had used it for was Fox. After 11-3, no more Fox, so no cable needs. Just internet. Between a HD antenna, and ROKU, you have more stations than you know what to do with

I honestly don't know how the major networks survive. There is so much content these days. There is no way they are hauling in enough viewers to matter. Especially the late night shows. Who watches that shit. And the NFL, they are lying about their viewership. These new soy boys don't like sports.

Same. The only useful channel anymore is the weather channel, and I'm sure they'll woke fuck that up too. There was no tornado, Trumper, probably blew up your own houses arrrghjhhg

Never any news in my home on TV. One local station is a little based but ditched them do to all the other liberal tear programming.

Something that I noticed when I went back to listening to CDs, you miss a whole lot when you have hundreds of options. There's something just satisfying about sitting down with a 12 track disc and just enjoying that instead of having a library of millions of songs at your fingertips.

I feel the same way.

Yeah, the price of cable and subscription TV isn't worth it. If there's any great TV shows on a pay channel, I'll wait and binge watch it later by some other means. I bought a digital tuner for my TV, which didn't come with one, and use a homemade antennae. Works great. Watching Colombo now on MeTV.

Love those old shows. Hoping they rerun the old Equalizer from the 80's and Magnum PI. Cagney and Lacey is also decent.

I like this idea. Ready to ditch it all.. I don't watch hardly anything anymore. 0 news, on any channel.

I posted this on c/technology a week ago, but since antenna TV was brought up, here it is. If you want a DVR for your antenna tv, just pick up a Windows XP or Vista machine off the side of the road, stick a $20 TV tuner card in it, and bam, you got a DVR. The card I got even doubles as a capture card so if I hook a VCR up to it, I can digitize VHS tapes. https://media.communities.win/post/9q1kDmHp.jpeg
