Like, I know it's not unheard of.
But I was thinking, and I don't know all that much about the military hierarchy
but isn't it weird that the federal government is bypassing using the actual army for protection and using the national guard?
I thought national guard was meant to act supplementary to the army?
(I'm not implying anything, I'm just trying to figure out if it's weird, or I'm just not well-informed)
They are the ones who get called in by the local state governments. The military would almost never get involved unless defending the nation on our own soil.
