Like, I know it's not unheard of.
But I was thinking, and I don't know all that much about the military hierarchy
but isn't it weird that the federal government is bypassing using the actual army for protection and using the national guard?
I thought national guard was meant to act supplementary to the army?
(I'm not implying anything, I'm just trying to figure out if it's weird, or I'm just not well-informed)
Where have you been. NG makes up over 50% of the combat power. It's a cheap way to stand up a Military and use it for anything. Active duty just not that many units these days. Active duty (outside of Marines) are some of the worsts units. Lazy as fuck and not all that bright. We would run circles around them on deployment. Have to remember, a lot of NG are either college students or have some other civilian life skill. None of that going on Active duty.
