It's an interesting view but I recommend you not only read Revelation yourself but check out link below. It is incredibly accurate and easy to understand. It's not a book to play around with so be careful whose interpretation you take in. I don't think that fella has got a good grasp on proper interpretation. He relies on his own interpretations a wee too much. (like not thinking the antichrist is one person, it is, and the 7 heads and crowns are lands and leaders, so on)

I had the same feeling while I was reading it but some of what was in there seemed pretty compelling. Thank you for taking the time to read and offering your thoughts.
In the year 999 AD, end times fears were an epidemic. An unusually high number of people were convinced the turn of the century would bring about the end of the world.
That's my take. Whether or not these are the end times is irrelevent. The people in charge are determined to make it seem like we are. Your belief one way or the other isn't going to stop them from forcing us into a dystopian society.

That's not really his interpretation per se, at least what you're pointing out are common contemplations I've run across in discussions

Also some random thoughts:
has .999 silver always been a thing? I admittedly know nearly nothing about silver, but I only ever recall seeing .925

This isn't y2k cletus. Funny how non believers are always in everyone's faces, while claiming believers are the ones in their faces.
I tend to have patience with the non religious folk because I was one until recently.
If you're 'new' then def check out the link above. It's long and what-not but really clear and worth it You can just listen, no watching necessary.
You believing in religion isn't a prerequisite for a gang of evil people controlling the world to be devout luciferians.
Food for thought.
