Thank you for your response. My son (who is 29) ended up with asthma and was diagnosed last year with moderate to severe COPD due to the treatment they gave him to save his life at birth. Ventilators are a two-edged sword. They saved his life but damaged his lungs. They told us he would generate new lung tissue until about 8 years old. I thought we had it behind us but I was wrong. The pulmonologist told my son he should be able to live a normal life span but he has to be careful. Right now the covid scares me but I am trying to leave it in God’s hands and not pick it back up again. I am glad your son is at St. Judes. That is one amazing place and your son is in the best place possible. Their success rate is very high. I’m praying specifically for all the doctors and medical personnel and am also praying for you. I’m sure you have the support you need. It’s so tough being a caregiver in situations like these. When my son was in the hospital it seemed like they were coming to me almost every other day telling me this or that might be wrong with my son. I had to do it alone because my husband had to work and my family and his live 3 hours away. You take care of yourself so you can be there for your son. Sending you love as a Christian and please keep us updated. You might want to reply to me specifically in case I miss your post
