Gays have been a steady fraction of the human population for a long ass time. Yes, it’s always been a small ass fraction, but it’s also steady. Many animals exhibit homosexual behavior as well, this implies that there’s some purpose to this we don’t understand.

EDIT: To be clear, I have a neutral stance on this issue because it’s usually too politically and/or emotionally charged to find anyone whose done objective fact gathering and examination. So I see both sides on this topic but think there is something critical we haven’t fettered out yet.

I always suspected the animal homosxuality is just them looking to get off from anything

Always possible but many animals rely on seasons where their hormones just suddenly kick in. Even without seasons many seem to rely more on a strong instinct rather than because it feels good directly.

Still, this and women in direct combat are two topics that are so socially, politically, religiously, personally, etc. charged that I just don’t see us getting objective facts and assessments on anytime soon.
