He objected to the electoral college even after the capitol incident, he's repeatedly said there was voter fraud, he offered to argue the SCOTUS case, etc etc. Is that cucked?

Well to now say publicly that the president is responsible for the capital riots and to say that trump was irresponsible in my opinion is turning his back on us. So yes. Cucked

Y'all can't make your mother fucking minds up what y'all want..... if he had talked the talk and not voted you would have said the same exact thing, and voting is supposed to be his ultimate power to walk the walk, and he voted with us and then gave a personal opinion about what he had seen so far at that point - and where I'm also sure that the context of listening to that entire segment is also important, but of course he will be crucified over a snippet of the segment....

Clearly he thought he saw enough evidence of fraud to at least stop the process and examine everything because that's exactly how he voted even after the "riots"....

Some of y'all are no better than the left with your cancel culture faggotry

When he says that trump was irresponsible is when he crossed the line.

Try understanding what he actually said. Not knee jerk reacting to a sound byte, like the left.

I don't see that aa what Cruz said. If that's what he means he'd vote to convict

Has he said that's a good idea? If not, you're misunderstanding him.

They're referring to this as "cucked":

President Trump’s rhetoric, I think, went way too far over the line. I think it was both reckless and irresponsible because he said repeatedly—and he said over and over again—he won by a landslide; there was massive fraud; it was all stolen everywhere. That evidence, the campaign did not prove that in any court, and to make a determination about an election it has to be based on the evidence, and so simply saying the result you want, that’s not responsible and you’ve never heard me use language like that.

Yeah, that rhetoric about going peacefully to the Capitol...that was surely code for everyone getting their guns out and shooting up the place! /s

I think cruz was referring to the President's statements in November & December prior to January 6th, not to the speech on the 6th.

B/C the people who did it had preplanned it for days and weeks in advance - they had no interest in President Trump's speech. Hell, they began their incident while he was still speaking! They started removing barricades about 12 minutes BEFORE Trump left the stage, and it's reportedly about a 35-40 minute walk from the speech area to the capitol. So clearly the people involved in the capitol incursion weren't at the speech. It's also known at least a few of them were also involved in the antifa/blm riots last summer.

Bottomline, Trump did not call for violence - he called for the exact opposite, and people claiming he did are viciously stupid, or grotesquely dishonest, or BOTH.

I don't know man, it sounds like he's betraying us. Can you give a better explanation or view for what he said and meant?

CannonballJunior 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why are you directing that question to me?

PaleoPopulist 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, I'm understanding that quote differently than you are, so I want to get your perception of it.

Yes. Cruz re-stated what DJT said, in language more tuned to his audience.

Now look at the next paragraph. Cruz merely re-states what DJT said, in language more tuned to his audience.

CannonballJunior 3 points ago +3 / -0

I read the next paragraph. Doesn't alter the fact that Cruz's language about Trump was absolute shit.

CuomoisaMassMurderer 0 points ago +1 / -1

Context is king. In context, Cruz is saying what DJT did. The quote mining GP did is shit. Taking a tiny sound byte out of context is shit.

We should not reduce ourselves to leftist shit. Although I agree with you, I would prefer for these tiny soundbytes to not be there, it doesn't change Cruz' overall meaning. He's fighting for Trump, before Congress.

something happened there...no question. My bet is we will never know what it was that turned him.

There's what you say and what you do about it.
