When I went to my grandparents as a kid, there was a neighbor boy I played with. He had downs, I was able to get to the point I could understand about 70% of what he said and figure out the rest with some time. NEVER called him a retard, because he wasn't. I have never used that word for disabled people, because to me, they aren't retards. I only call stupid jerks retards.
