This is likely the result of Trump's decision to forgo creating a third party. He wants to finish the takeover of the GOP. I would prefer a third party (i.e. a Trump-led Patriot Party) but I'll ride this one out with Trump if this is the kind of thing we can expect.
Almost zero of these 'Bush Officials' are appointees, and those who are are nonentities. The rest are career government employees who happened to be employed at the Federal government during the Bush administration.
