In a polarized society like today, debate is all but meaningless. Nobody is going to change their minds based on a debate at this point. Anyone who would actually spend their time listening to a debate has already chosen their side.

Not to mention, the other side of the debate is not interested in reaching a better conclusion. They're not interested in coming to the truth. They are only interested in advancing their agenda. So the only thing debating could do is give them an opportunity.

And we've been debating non-stop for years or even decades now. And winning handily. But it doesn't make any difference. They aren't even interested in hearing facts that don't fit their narrative.
