It occurred to me last night that it's also our fault that the whole world has gone full retard over the beer virus (speaking as someone in his early 50s who has had it and recovered almost as quickly as Trump and with no medical intervention). The world expects the US to take the lead, and as a result of us not having done so, we're now almost a year into "two weeks to flatten the curve."
I want very much to be wrong about this, but I've had so many black pills in multiple orifices that I fear I'm right.
The insurrection act may have been the right move, but it would always present some degree of a gamble. What may have become of Trump if he had invoked it and it ultimately had failed? Would he still walk free? The two months of fruitless attempts may now seem like completely wasted time with the advantage of hindsight, but at the time many expected that working within the system would succeed and was the appropriate course to pursue.
Honestly I am okay with them winning in the end. They wanted it more than us and did what they must. We didn't put up a fight at all while they have been on war for literally 4 years.
I agree. The virus isn't our fault, certainly. But as u/JohnnyRico69 has pointed out, it was we who acquiesced not only with the fraudulent election, but also with the masks, the social distancing, the fear that has settled onto society. And not just our society either, but across the whole world. The result? Now I see no way to go back to normal, ever -- or at least no peaceful way. And the ones who are in power are LOVING it. Currently that includes both Democrats and Republicans. (And I say that as someone who has voted a straight Republican ticket since 1996.)
Again, I desperately want to be wrong, and would love it if someone proved me wrong. Meanwhile, I'd like to continue the "It's OK to be white / Christian / male / whatever" idea with "It's OK not to be afraid of COVID."

The enemy's plan was that they know we were pussies and would do nothing even when faced with blatant cheating.

Wait what? Other countries are doing their own thing, they aren't waiting for us to "take the lead". We're almost a year in because of CHINA
