They were so convinced all they had to do was let the rowdy crowd in and they would see to violence and destruction in the Capitol. Instead they got listless idiots posing for pictures and obeying the roping in an orderly fashion. That video of the cop beating his baton on the ground before fleeing up the stairs is so pathetically staged.
