If it smells like Gas, there’s gas.
I think it must be the ethanol making it sticky. I’d never use it. Maybe if I was 80.

Damnedest thing is that it was ethenol-free gas. I try to only use that in my small engines to keep the carbs clean and not have to replace hoses as often.

It's gotta be something though inside the gas formula, wouldn't pure gas evaporate? I don't know enough about chemistry, but tip of the hat for knowing to not put the junk in your small engines.
