Not to be argumentative, but I don't agree with your assessment of the LP being DS controlled. It is dysfunctional for different reasons.
I've been involved at the national level and walked away after observing and drawing the conclusion that they are unable/unwilling to do what it takes to be a serious party.
I welcome disagreement, especially if I might be wrong. Regardless, while I do agree with your observation on its surface, I think the unable/unwillingness to be a serious party is by design.
I correspond with many of the top Libertarians on a regular basis. I don't think they are the types that are easy to infiltrate or manipulate specifically because they see a government plot lurking around every corner.
Is your scenario possible? Sure, but it doesn't fit with my personal experience, and I'm fully read in on just how deceptive the DS is. My tinfoil hats are very worn in.
The point I was making was that starting a 3rd party has immense hurdles to overcome and we need unity now, not debates about semantics. An American Party doesn't care what it's called, just what it stands for.
The Libertarians are not a party for Libertarians, but a puppet party controlled by the DS.
