Interesting! I did not find reliable numbers outside of total population. 2020 population over 18 had non-citizens included. And years in between census did not provide only citizens over 18 or only citizens over 21 as it was before 1972 election.

Yeah, the graph I provided was VEP from Michael McDonald (University of Florida) which uses Vital Statistics of American Politics (CQ Press, Stanley and Niemi, eds.)

Sadly that datasource is locked behind .edu paywalls at every turn so it's not terribly helpful for making new graphs.

Thanks. I am not sure I trust their data. I did 2008 (based on 2010 citizenship data) and the figure is too low. I bet other years are off. 2020 is probably higher also.
