I remember the first time I heard Peking referred to as Beijing. What the fuck was "Beijing"? It was in the 80's, and the asshole saying it was Dan Rather.
The media don't call Munich, München, do they? (or a hundred other foreign cities). Then, why change Peking to Beijing?
