What we've learned from corruption over in Europe is that big banks will help you launder money, they'll roll out the red carpet and lick your ass. If you just bring in enough money to launder.

Because in the end, if they get caught the fines will be fixed to about $40M. Now that sounds like a lot, but if they launder $1B it's just 4%, definitely worth it.

But if grandma comes in with her life savings in cash about $5,000, the banks confiscate it all because it's too risky, what if those money isn't hers but profit from her drug dealing sons... no matter what, if the bank gets caught, that's a $40M fine.

So basically, if you just launder enough money, or as in this case, cash in a big enough check. No one will stop you.
