Here's the letter signed by many authors and publishers who are in favor of banning OTHER authors books, one which have opinions (or facts) that they disagree with.

You might expect this from Goebbels or perhaps the Taliban, but when did this start to be ok in America? Maybe they'll sponsor some fun book-burning bonfires later, like the Nazis did. Aside from the un-America-ness of it all, how could you actually be stupid enough to put your name on something like this?
If you have some free time it might be fun to go online and review a few of these author's books!

The list just goes on and on and on. Makes my stomach turn.
May their chains rest lightly.
Scared of competition...
It's best to buy indie authors anyway - pretty much the only exception I make are books by people like Candace Owens because these bigger names still seem to go for the trad publishers, which, frankly, I am a bit disappointed with, and some authors by Baen Books - besides the best authors are mostly among them now anyway, what most trad publishers sell as genre novels are damn boring and mostly in your face "educational".
Sure, there are also a hell of a lot of bad writers among the indies too so finding the good may be bit of a problem, but if you persist there are real pearls there. The good old fashioned adventure story has pretty much its only place there now (well, Baen Books have good authors, like Correia and Ringo, and some bigger houses have kept their old bestsellers because they'd presumably cease to exist without them, but only Baen seems to be willing to take on new ones), for example, as do traditional westers.
All the stuff the trad publishers decided no longer has an audience... or maybe think that it shouldn't have an audience.
The big problem right now is however that the main platform for them is Amazon because most of the buyers are there, so the ones who actually may want to get some money for their work kind of have to stay there. We'd really need some viable alternatives. And a way to lure the customers there once we have them.
