I'd agree with you but fist bumps are playful and fun in the right context and most people are finger grabbing assholes that can't shake hands properly.
Wait til thumbs lock in before clasping... It's not hard. The worst part is they grab my fingers then tease my weak grip. So I just raise my hand up as if they were grabbing my fingers to kiss my hand like a gentleman.
Personally, I don't miss the hand shake to be honest. Not a fan of the fist bump either, but I never liked the handshake. Too many people don't know how to do it or are douchey about it.

Why not just punch them in the fist... you'll have plausible deniability. "Sorry, I thought you were challenging me!"
