I believe the bible is the inspired word of god. It describes hell as an eternal lake of fire and torment.

In Revelation only, which famously can't be taken literally (let alone if you believe the Bible is inspired rather than direct dictation). Whereas Jesus himself was quoting Isaiah about worm that never dies and fire that's never quenched, which - in Isaiah - manifestly referred to eternal death rather than eternal torment?
