I'm picturing an aerial carousel made of single occupant helicopters suspended over a large pool of water. After a set amount of time, the bottom drops out and they'd fall in to the pool.

Edit: do you one better: set it on a random number gen. so it drops anywhere between 10 and 50 seconds after the ride operator hits the switch, so you never know when you're gonna get "booted"
